The Herberger Theater is committed to bringing together artists and community for diverse and engaging experiences in the arts.
This starts with a commitment to diversity. The Herberger Theater is committed to building a sustainable organizational culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion through our staff, Board of Directors, and initiatives. We are committed to bring diversity to our arts offerings through support of our resident companies, performing companies, and production of our own events. By offering support to the artists who perform and exhibit here, the Herberger Theater helps ensure the values we hold are showcased through the work that enters our space.
The Herberger Theater also upholds the highest standards for guest experience. We are committed to ensuring each guest has a memorable, safe, and enjoyable experience. This is emphasized through the theater’s SHOWTIME training regimen for associates and volunteers which highlights the most important aspects of our guests’ experience to guarantee each guest can celebrate meaningful connections to the arts in our venue.
Originally conceived in 1989 as an organization poised to advocate for the arts in Arizona, the Herberger Theater has a foundational commitment to furthering the growth of the arts in the Valley. This is shown not only in the traditional performances that guests can attend, but also in our youth education and outreach programs. The strength of the arts is built on a mutual mission to meet the community’s needs through innovative and engaging artistic experiences which the Herberger Theater is committed to providing in an accessible way.
We want your time with us to be memorable and enjoyable. If any portion of your time at the Herberger Theater did not exceed your expectations, please contact our Director of Guest Experience (click here) so we can make it right.
Land Acknowledgement
The Herberger Theater Center acknowledges the twenty-two native nations that inhabit these lands where they have lived and worked for centuries.
We honor with gratitude the land itself and the people who have stewarded it throughout the generations.
This calls us to commit to be better stewards of the land we inhabit and to be advocates for the incorporation of Indigenous values and knowledge systems in all that we do.
It is with respect, we recognize native and indigenous people are an integral part of our community, resilient in responding to and healing from a legacy of violence, displacement, migration, and inequity.
With this truth spoken, we hope to build mutual respect and connection across all barriers of heritage and differences as we share our gratitude for the Native American, Indigenous, Alaska Native, and Pacific Islander communities.
We invite you to join us in our humble commitment to continue learning from our Indigenous leaders.
