AnthroArts Collective and Bodies Contemporary Company are two up and coming dance companies in the Phoenix area who are forces to be reckoned with! Working on their first collaborative show, the coupling of the exploration of human nature which runs through everything AnthroArts produces and the raw authentic storytelling which is so unique to Bodies’ work poses an exciting artistic project coming to you soon! The first half of the show features AnthroArts Co.’s newest project, Waiting Rooms. Choreographed by Trinity Gracia in collaboration with her company dancers, Waiting Rooms explores the notion that everyone is waiting for something in their life. From waiting for your big break in excitement and anticipation, to waiting for the other shoe to drop as you sense impending doom, Waiting Rooms uncovers a wide spectrum of such a seemingly mundane human experience which is waiting. After intermission, Bodies’ latest work, It Takes a Village, takes the audience on a deeply emotional journey through the raw, beautiful, and often isolating transformation of motherhood. Directed and choreographed by Randee Madison in collaboration with the dancers, It Takes a Village brings the experience of motherhood to life as a mother is born, shedding her past self and stepping into something entirely new. Serving as a reminder that no one is meant to take on this journey alone, It Takes a Village follows a mother falling into darkness, finding the strength to reach out, and discovering the power of community. Two deeply thought-provoking and inspiring performances wrapped up in one collaborative show! AnthroArts Collective and Bodies Contemporary Company could not be more excited to share their art with you. Get your tickets today!
